LeGrow's Travel began in 1965 in St. John's and was owned and operated by the LeGrow family until Maritime Travel Inc. purchased it in 1997. Our 21 offices throughout Newfoundland and Labrador continue to be managed from our St. John's head office, yet we have adopted all the company benefits and corporate objectives of our parent company, Maritime Travel Inc. LeGrow's parent company, Maritime Travel Inc. began with a single storefront, called Maritime Travel, in 1949. January 8th, 2002, Maritime Travel Inc. purchased the assets of the Bay Travel, which extended its locations across the country in all provinces except Saskatchewan. Today, our retail operations consist of 80 retail locations, trading as Maritime Travel, Maritime Travel @ the Bay, LeGrow's Travel, and a national call center. Combined, our retail operations generate annual sales of over $140 million and employ over 380 people. We are committed to staying one step ahead of our competition in the ever-changing travel industry. We believe that good people are particularly critical to our ongoing success. In fact, many of our staff have been with us for over 10 years. Launched in 1997, our 4500 square-foot Travel Center specializes in third party call center contracting, handles the Maritime and LeGrow's Direct toll-free, extended-hour retail services, and manages our E-Travel Club. In keeping with our legacy of providing staff with ready access to training programs, the National Call Center also has a dedicated training facility that is equipped with leading-edge technology. Maritime Travel Inc. believes this Center has huge growth potential and, thanks to our philosophy of hiring highly educated and motivated staff, this operation is very successful.
